Oakview Baptist New Activity Bus!

God has blessed us with a new activity bus. Our first use of this bus will be on our Branson trip in July. If you haven't signed up for this trip then give us a call at 580-795-3569 and we will get you name on the list. The trip is for 3 days and 2 nights with hotel room for two, tickets for two shows, and two meals each day. We will be leaving from the church on Thursday morning July 17th, and will arrive back at the church Satuday July 19th. The cost of the trip is $ 199.00 per person and we are going to have a whale of a time.
Clowning Around at Clown School!
Here are some of our church members that attended clown school. There names have been changed to protect the innocent. You will be seeing them in the future clowning around our "Faith and Fun Wagon" during block parties, parades, Saturday morning bus visitation and other special church events.
Current News!!!
The nursery upgrade is finished and it really looks great! Now it's time to begin praying about the next project that God has given us through his vision for our church. The Building Fund for the Children's Educational Center has already begun and you will be hearing more about this in the very near future.
Other things that we are making ready for this Spring and Summer are the new bus we bought from the Madill School system, the Ice Cream and Sno Cone Truck, plus many other children related activities.

Jerusalem Marketplace
This Summer, beginning June 4th at 6pm, we are hosting "Jerusalem Marketplace." This is a program for our children to learn about the times and culture of Jesus' days on earth. Costumes will be available for all participants it they would like to wear one. We will learn how to celebrate with music and learn about the folk dances of the Jewish culture. Our crafts will focus on items of that time with a short lesson in learning about the purpose and use of the items. The program will be outdoors most of the time and we will even have live farm animals in the marketplace occasionally. This is an exciting time for the children!!
WOM and Missions Committee
The Oakview Missions Committee and the WOM will be working together on a Banner Ministry and on crafting new Crismons for 2008. If you can sew or enjoy crafts and would like to help with these projects, come to our WOM meetings on the third Sunday of each month in our fellowship hall at 5:00. Janice Cox will be here to teach us about the Crismons and how to make them. Our next Associational WOM meeting will be on June 16th at Willis B.C. The van will leave Oakview at 6 pm. This meeting will be our "Hats On Parade" so make and/or wear a unique hat. Prizes will be given!! Come join us June 16th.
